Tile & Slate

Tile & Slate Roofing in Kansas City

Clay tile, concrete tile, natural and synthetic slate, installed by a crew that actually knows how. The longest-lasting roof you can buy, done right.

Premium Roofing Systems

Roofs built to
outlast the house.

Clay tile, concrete tile, natural slate and synthetic slate are the longest-lasting roofing systems you can put on a home. Installed right, they shrug off Missouri hail and hold their look for 50 to 100+ years.

Tile and slate are unforgiving of sloppy work. Underlayment, flashing, fastening pattern and headlap all have to be exactly right, which is why most roofers won’t touch them. We do, and we do it properly.

What We Install

Tile & Slate Options

Clay Tile

Classic Spanish and flat-profile clay. Fireproof, colorfast, and good for a century.

Concrete Tile

The look of clay or slate at a lower cost, with excellent hail and wind resistance.

Natural Slate

Quarried stone, hand-fastened. The most durable and most beautiful roof there is.

Synthetic Slate

Composite slate that looks like the real thing at a fraction of the weight and price.

Why It Matters

Not every roofer
should be on a
tile roof.

Walking a tile or slate roof wrong cracks it. Fastening it wrong lets wind under it. Skipping the structural check can overload your framing. We treat these systems with the care they demand.

  • Load check before any tile or slate install
  • Ice & water shield plus high-temp synthetic underlayment
  • Copper or stainless flashing that lasts as long as the roof
  • Proper headlap, fastening and ridge detail on every course

Questions

Tile & Slate FAQ

How long does a tile or slate roof last?
Concrete tile runs 40 to 50+ years, clay tile 75 to 100+, and natural slate can exceed a century. Synthetic slate is typically warrantied for 50 years. The underlayment and flashing are usually what wear out first, which is why we install the best available.
Can my house support a tile or slate roof?
Tile and slate weigh 2 to 4 times what asphalt shingles do. Many homes are fine, some need reinforcement. We check the framing before we quote so there are no surprises.
Does insurance cover hail damage to tile or slate?
Usually, yes. Cracked, chipped or displaced tiles from a storm are covered damage on most policies. We document everything, meet your adjuster on-site, and handle the claim like we do for shingle roofs.
Can you repair just a few broken tiles?
Yes. We source matching tiles and slate for repairs and replace individual pieces without disturbing the rest of the roof.
